BAPHOMET - LARGE
$115.00
This statue is made of resin and stands approximately 18 1/8 inches by 7 3/8 inches wide.
It is believed that within Lévi's Baphomet, are contained the dualistic nature of life and the male female aspects of creation. The image combines both male and female qualities; one arm masculine, one feminine; the breasts of a woman with a caduceus on its lap; one arm pointing skyward while one pointing down, perhaps a representation of the Hermetic axiom "As Above...So Below". On the right arm is written "Solve" Solution and on the Left "Coagula" Coagulation. These are references found in alchemy, a study that Lévi not only undertook but also wrote about in his books.

BEHEMOTH - BRONZE FINISH
$14.50
This sculpture is made of resin with a faux bronze finish. It stands approximately 3 1/2 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide.
According to legend, the Behemoth was the largest animal that lived on land. Jewish tradition tells us that it was fashioned from clay on the sixth day of creation. However, the book of Job records that the Behemoth is the first of God's works. In the Muslim tradition, Behemoth equates with the monstrous Bahamut, the vast monster that supports the earth in the cosmos. Demonically, as the name suggests, he was a huge soldier of Satan, usually depicted as an elephant with a big round belly, waddling on two feet. He was the infernal watchman, and also presided over the gluttonous banquets and feasts. It is said that he also enjoyed a certain renown for his voice, being regarded as Hell's official demonic singer.

Belphegor was originally the Assyrian form of Baal-Poer, a Moabitish god who was associated with licentiousness and orgies and was worshipped in the form of a phallus. Now a demon, he is described in Kabbalistic writings as the "disputer", an enemy of the sixth Sephiroth "beauty." When summoned, he can grant riches, the power of discovery and ingenious invention. ORPHIC EGG
$43.50
Our newest sculpture is made of resin and measures approximately 11 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches across. It would make a great altar piece or focal point for meditation.
The ancient symbol of the Orphic Mysteries (Dionysos is the principle Orphic deity) was the serpent-entwined egg which signified Cosmos as encircled by the fiery Creative Spirit. The egg represents the soul of the philosopher; the serpent, the Mysteries. It also symbolizes the belief in the Greek Orphic religion that the universe originated from within a silver egg. The Orphic egg, and the spermatozoa both represent fertility and creation. The spermatozoa is symbolic of birth in the outer world; the Orphic egg symbolizes spiritual rebirth. This famous egg was consecrated to Bacchus in his mysteries. It was, says Plutarch, an image of the universe, which engenders everything, and contains everything in its bosom.
